How to read this definition

Inclusion criteria describe evidence that can establish this activity. Exclusion criteria identify circumstances that do not establish it on that basis alone. The evaluation remains connected to its taxonomy version and supporting evidence.

Can establish this activity

Included when supported

Evidence may support involvement when it matches one or more of these inclusion criteria.

5 criteria
  1. 01Criterion

    Nuclear Weapons R&D Contractors

Defined as: Companies performing research or development specifically for nuclear weapons, nuclear warheads, nuclear missile systems, or nuclear-armed delivery platforms.

  2. 02Criterion

    Nuclear Systems Engineering Providers

Defined as: Companies providing systems engineering, requirements management, architecture, integration planning, technical advisory, or programme engineering specifically for nuclear-weapons programmes.

  3. 03Criterion

    Government-Funded Nuclear Weapons Engineering Programmes

Defined as: Companies receiving government or military funding for engineering, design, prototype, or modernization work connected to nuclear weapons or nuclear-specific delivery systems.

  4. 04Criterion

    Nuclear Laboratory Technical Support Providers

  5. 05Criterion

Nuclear-Specific Component and Subsystem Design Support

Defined as: Companies designing or engineering components, materials, software, or subsystems specifically for nuclear weapons or nuclear-specific delivery systems.

Does not establish this activity on its own

Excluded on this basis alone

These circumstances do not establish this activity unless separate evidence also meets an inclusion criterion.

5 criteria
  1. 01Criterion

    Civilian Nuclear Research and Engineering

Defined as: Companies performing research, design, engineering, or testing solely for civilian nuclear energy, medical isotopes, industrial isotopes, or non-weaponized nuclear applications.

  2. 02Criterion

    Generic Defense Engineering

Defined as: Companies providing general military engineering or advisory services without a documented nuclear-weapons programme, system, facility, or component nexus.

  3. 03Criterion

Academic, Policy, Arms-Control, or Humanitarian Research

Defined as: Organizations conducting non-commercial, policy, compliance, medical, humanitarian, disarmament, or arms-control research without developing or supporting operational nuclear weapons.
