We are responsible for personal information under our control. Our privacy contact is currently privacy@thecompanyscreener.com.

We aim to limit collection to information reasonably needed for the stated purposes. We do not currently claim that non-essential analytics or advertising technologies are in use; this policy will be updated before any such use is introduced.

How we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide requested demonstrations;
  • create, authenticate, and administer accounts and workspaces;
  • provide portfolio, watchlist, screening, evidence, review, and correction workflows;
  • deliver in-app or email service notifications according to user preferences when those services are configured;
  • protect the service, investigate misuse, and diagnose errors;
  • maintain audit, compliance, and operational records where appropriate; and
  • meet legal obligations and enforce applicable agreements.

If we identify a materially different purpose, we will provide notice and obtain consent where required.

Disclosure and service providers

We may disclose information to service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, communicate, analyze, monitor, and support the service. We may also disclose information when directed by an authorized client, when required by law, or as part of a properly structured corporate transaction.

The provider list and processing locations are being confirmed. They must be published before launch. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed.

We remain responsible for personal information transferred to a service provider for processing, subject to applicable law and contractual arrangements.

Retention and safeguards

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the service, preserve appropriate audit records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. A detailed retention and deletion schedule is being confirmed before launch.

We use safeguards intended to be appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Specific hosting, encryption, backup, access-review, incident-response, and certification claims will be published only after they are verified.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, an individual may ask whether we hold personal information about them, request access, challenge its accuracy or completeness, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify identity before responding.

Users can choose intended in-app and email notification preferences when those controls become available. Operational messages required to administer or secure an account may still be sent.

Privacy requests should be sent to privacy@thecompanyscreener.com. If a concern is not resolved, individuals may have the right to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another applicable regulator.

Cookies and local storage

The service may use cookies or similar storage that is necessary for authentication, security, session continuity, and user preferences. The public theme control stores the selected visual theme on the device.

No non-essential analytics or advertising cookies are currently confirmed for the public site. If they are introduced, we will update this policy and implement any notice or consent controls required by applicable law.
