Include operators of offshore oil or gas fields whose wells or production systems meet an identified deepwater or ultra-deepwater definition under the applicable evidence source or client policy.
- 02Criterion
Include owners or operators of drilling rigs, drillships, or platforms when the entity directly conducts deepwater oil or gas drilling.
- 03Criterion
Include companies with active deepwater exploration, appraisal, development, or production projects where the asset, water depth, basin, and entity role are documented.
- 04Criterion
Include operators of subsea production systems only where the entity owns or operates the deepwater upstream project; component supply alone is excluded.
- 05Criterion
Include specialized drilling contractors that directly drill deepwater or ultra-deepwater oil or gas wells.
- 06Criterion
Include diversified or integrated energy companies with directly evidenced current deepwater upstream operations.

- 01Criterion
Exclude onshore oil and gas activity.
- 02Criterion
Exclude offshore activity that does not meet the documented deepwater boundary selected for the evaluation.
- 03Criterion
Exclude pipelines, tankers, terminals, storage, processing, and other midstream or downstream activity without direct deepwater drilling or production.
- 04Criterion
Exclude general marine construction, subsea equipment, engineering, survey, vessel, diving, and support services without responsibility for drilling or operating the deepwater upstream project.
- 05Criterion
Exclude offshore wind, marine renewables, carbon storage, scientific drilling, and other non-oil-and-gas offshore activity.
- 06Criterion
Exclude ceased or divested deepwater operations from current involvement while preserving verified historical involvement and effective dates.
