Inclusion criteria describe evidence that can establish this activity. Exclusion criteria identify circumstances that do not establish it on that basis alone. The evaluation remains connected to its taxonomy version and supporting evidence.
Included when supported
Evidence may support involvement when it matches one or more of these inclusion criteria.
- 01Criterion
Unspecified Nuclear Warhead Developers
Defined as: Companies involved in the design, engineering, development, production, assembly, or integration of nuclear warheads where public evidence does not clearly identify the warhead as strategic or tactical.
- 02Criterion
Multi-Role or Variable-Yield Warhead Producers
Defined as: Companies that design, produce, integrate, or maintain nuclear warheads that can serve multiple operational roles, delivery modes, or yield configurations.
- 03Criterion
Warhead Assembly and Sustainment (Unspecified or Multi-Role)
Defined as: Companies engaged in the construction, refurbishment, life-extension, lifecycle management, or material sustainment of nuclear warheads where the strategic or tactical role is mixed, classified, or not publicly specified.
- 04Criterion
Reentry, Payload, or Bomb Integration (Unspecified or Multi-Role)
Defined as: Companies responsible for integrating nuclear warheads into reentry vehicles, payload bays, gravity-bomb assemblies, or other nuclear payload systems where the role is mixed or not publicly specified.
- 05Criterion
Mixed-Stockpile Warhead Facility Operators
Defined as: Contractors managing or operating facilities that store, test, service, assemble, disassemble, refurbish, or steward nuclear warheads across mixed or unspecified stockpiles.
Excluded on this basis alone
These circumstances do not establish this activity unless separate evidence also meets an inclusion criterion.
- 01Criterion
Strategic-Only Warhead Involvement
Defined as: Companies whose publicly evidenced involvement is limited to strategic nuclear warheads, which should be classified under Strategic Nuclear Warheads.
- 02Criterion
Tactical-Only Warhead Involvement
Defined as: Companies whose publicly evidenced involvement is limited to tactical nuclear warheads, which should be classified under Tactical Nuclear Warheads.
- 03Criterion
Delivery System Manufacturers Without Warhead Involvement
Defined as: Companies that manufacture aircraft, submarines, missiles, launchers, or other delivery systems without evidence of nuclear warhead development, production, assembly, integration, or sustainment.
- 04Criterion
Civilian Nuclear Materials or Research
Defined as: Companies involved only in civilian nuclear power, civilian nuclear fuel, medical isotopes, basic nuclear research, or non-weaponized nuclear applications.
- 05Criterion
Training or Simulation Without Operational Warhead Nexus
Defined as: Companies providing training, education, simulation, or modelling without confirmed involvement in operational nuclear warhead design, development, certification, production, or sustainment.
